WELCOME TO KAPARI
Kapari Angus is run by the Sudlow family and was established by Ian and Kay in 1975. The properties are run by Tony and Liz with help from their four children, Georgia, Preston, Lachlan and Madison.
The Northampton climate traditionally has long hot summers with temperatures regularly above 40C and short warm winters from May until September, with an average rainfall of only about 300mm. This has proved over time to be an ideal breeding ground for constitutionally strong cattle. Although the seemingly increasing dry seasons and droughts can cause a lot of heartache, the positive of this is that the Kapari cow herd is continually being tested for constitution or “doing ability”. Any cows that are weak in this area are easily identified and culled. Like most of their clients the Sudlows run a mixed farming operation where the cattle cannot be pampered and have to compete with the cropping and sheep enterprises. Over time these conditions have produced cattle that are quiet, efficient and easy to run.
