OUR BREEDING AIMS

Since its inception in 1975, Kapari has bred quality bulls with a focus on four fundamental selection pillars:

1.    Temperament

2.    Structural soundness

3.    Constitution

4.    Estimated Breeding Values (EBVs)

Our focus centres around getting the right mix of genetics to produce bulls that perform in even the most testing environments.  To achieve this, Artificial Insemination (AI) has been used within the herd for over 40 years and 90% of our cows are put to AI.  In the past, the Sudlows have travelled East to expand and diversify the Kapari bloodlines, buying from some of Australia's leading studs.  Genetics have also been sourced from other West Australian breeders.  However, some of the best results have been from home bred bulls.

Biosecurity has become increasingly important and we are fortunate that there are no cattle properties on our Kapari boundaries.  We have a JBAS 8 accreditation.

At Kapari we are very conscious of the trust you place in us when purchasing our genetics.  Our cow herd is run under commercial conditions. At weaning our calves are turned onto lupin/cereal stubbles and perennial grasses.  During Winter our cattle are run on clover-based pastures with minimal feeding once the season has broken.

Ninety percent of our bull sales are to repeat clients.
